MedImages

View DICOM images in your browser

MedImages is a browser-based DICOM viewer for opening and inspecting compatible CT, MRI, X-ray, and other medical imaging files without installing a desktop application.

Account required. Individual uploads are limited to 4 MB.

Viewer capabilities

Essential controls for a focused review

Work with one selected image at a time using controls designed for DICOM presentation rather than a generic photo viewer.

Window and level

Adjust intensity display by dragging or choose CT and MR presentation presets.

Navigate the image

Zoom, pan, rotate, flip, invert, and reset the current view.

Inspect metadata

Review selected DICOM fields such as modality, dimensions, and window values.

Export images

Download the currently rendered view as PNG while preserving the original upload.

Who it is for

A practical file inspection workspace

MedImages may be useful to students, educators, researchers, developers, imaging professionals, and anyone who needs to check a compatible DICOM file or create a standard image for an authorized, non-diagnostic workflow.

It is not a complete PACS, study manager, reporting system, or replacement for the original DICOM data and appropriate clinical systems.

Get started

From file to view in four steps

  1. 1. Create an account or sign in.
  2. 2. Select a DICOM Part 10 file in the workspace.
  3. 3. Choose the uploaded image and adjust its presentation.
  4. 4. Inspect available metadata or export the visible view.

File handling

Uploads do not stay entirely in your browser

The browser validates, reads, and renders the selected file, but the workspace also uploads the complete DICOM file to MedImages and stores it for your authenticated account. In the Cloudflare deployment, file bytes use R2 and upload records use D1. The current product has no public-sharing feature.

DICOM files can contain protected health information in metadata or image pixels. Do not upload sensitive data unless you are authorized and understand the privacy implications.
